The Famille Rose enamelled birds are shown standing on colorful rockwork, having an elaborate peacock-type tail, covered with multicolored neck and wing feathers and chicken-type head and combs.

MASSIVE CHINESE FLAMBE GALLIPOT (Meiping)

The Flambe (accidental glaze) effect is achieved by mixing cobalt blue and copper red. The glaze drips and runs down the vase in a deliberately unintended path, often creating exciting abstract designs.

CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE GARLIC MOUTH BOTTLE

Together with various floral sprays, A bifurcated-tail dragon winds itself around the neck, while various antique vases filled with bouquets of flowers encircle the barrel of the body.

RARE AND IMPORTANT CHINESE ROSE-VERTE CHARGER

The charger depicts the ancient Daoist ceremonial themes native to China for almost 3000 years: on the outer rim, the Eight Daoist Immortals (Baxian) are shown, together with their trademark symbols, each inside of elaborately drawn cartouches, On the interior the Eight Magic Trigrams (baqua) surround the Energy Symbol (YinYang).

The charger displays the earliest applications of pink and white in the overglaze enamel palette, taught to the Chinese by Jesuits visiting the Imperial Court.

PAIR CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE CHARGERS

An under glaze blue chain link pattern covers the entire face of the charger with European style pink yellow and green peony, rose and chrysanthemum flowers interspersed inside the links.

PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE CHARGERS

A Tree of Life stands in the center adorned with Magnolia-type flowers.

The flattened rim is decorated with four busy floral bouquets. The underside shows four typical Rouge de Fer floral sprays.

RARE CHINESE FIVE-COLOR (WUCAI) BARBED RIM BASIN

Made for the Japanese Market, known as Ko Akae Ware
Birds and Flowers on Branches and Rockwork adorn the center. On the flattened rim, are eight different diaper panels, with an under glaze blue Fuku mark on the bottom. A firing flaw inside the footring has evolved into a crack.

RARE BLANC DE CHINE STANDING BUDAI

Extremely unusual interpretation shows Budai standing with sack around his shoulders containing a child. Another child at his side. Illegible impressed marks on back.
